Last weekend was really nice. The weather was great - warm during the day and chilly at night. The husband was able to put new rear brakes on the car (apparently metal rubbing metal is not conducive to stopping said car). His skills as a former mechanic seemed to come back to him very easliy and for that I'm grateful.
Saturday night was perfect for an outdoor fire with some wine and smores. We were also hoping to catch a glimpse of the Super Moon. Oh, yea and there were was the need for smores and wine!
The kids played together - I'm mean they actually interacted with one another and played lacrosse in the background. Probably the reason that is was also the night for the Super Moon. It only lasted about 45 mintues, but I'll take what I can get (the kids playing, not the Super Moon). Even the dogs were well behaved and enjoyed laying around the fire.
With this post, I'm starting a semi-regular practice of posting a Thankful Thought. The photo layer was provided by Ali Edwards. You can download the free template here...Thankful Thought No.1
This shot was taken with my iPhone and the Hipstamic application, so it's a bit artistic. But I love how it captures the kids and the dogs.
I'm thankful for good weekends.
I'm thankful for mechanically inclined husbands.
I'm thankful for kids who sometimes want to be together and tolerate each other.
I'm thankful for smores and wine by the fire.
